SAP BTP Intro!

SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) is a PaaS Cloud Computing service offering from SAP. It is the technological foundation for all SAP applications & the intelligent enterprise.

Cloud Computing is to store, access and manage data on remote servers instead of local server. The remote servers are hosted on the cloud(internet). The cloud computing services can be broadly categorized as-

• SaaS (Software as a Service) – Includes PaaS/ Hosted Applications
• PaaS (Platform as a Service) – Includes IaaS/ Operating System / Dev Tools/DBMS

In PaaS, the data and applications are managed by the client whereas everything else is managed by the service provider. It provides a platform (environment) where client can build services and apps in the internet (InCloud) and these hosted services can be accessed by the users simply via the browser.
